Srinagar, July 5: Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, today congratulated the eight candidates from J&K who successfully cracked the prestigious UPSC examinations, results of which were announced on Saturday.
“My heartfelt congratulations to all the successful candidates who qualified country’s premier examination, especially those from J&K State, who made it to the list this year,” Mufti Sayeed said.
Conveying his best wishes to Baseer-ul-Haq, Afaq Ahmad Giri, Mohammad Yasin, Prayati Sharma, Deeba Farhat, Athar Amir-ul-Shafi Khan, Irfan Hafiz and Ruveda Salam, the Chief Minister hoped that they will become role models and inspiration for many aspiring students tomorrow.
The Chief Minister especially lauded the effort of Athar Amir-ul-Shafi, a resident of Mattan in Anantnag district, who qualified the prestigious examination at a young age of 22.
The Chief Minister hoped that the candidates will emulate their success while disseminating their official duties and providing succour to the people.
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also congratulated the candidates from the State who qualified the UPSC civil services examinations, saying their hard-work against all odds provided inspiration to the youth here.
“I congratulate the successful UPSC candidates from the State. Their individual stories of struggle and hard-work against all odds provided inspiration not only to the youth of the State but also for policy-makers who should endeavour to facilitate youth empowerment,” Omar said here.
The former Chief Minister lauded 22-year-old candidate, Athar Amir-ul-Shafi Khan from south Kashmir’s Anantnag district who is the youngest of the lot from the State.
He said it was equally important to encourage those who tried their best but could not make it to the UPSC list this year. “They should not be disheartened but should rather treat this as an opportunity that motivates them to work harder and never give in,” the NC Working President said.
He also congratulated all the candidates from other states of the country who qualified the exams.
