Mufti family pushing dangerous agenda against nation: Bali Bhagat

JAMMU, Jan 3: Senior BJP leader and former Health Minister Bali Bhagat today launched a sharp attack on PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and her daughter Iltija Mufti, alleging that the Mufti family is promoting narratives that harm national unity and security.
Reacting to Iltija Mufti’s remarks on Hindutva, alleged VPN restrictions and the Palestine helmet controversy, Bhagat said these statements were deliberate attempts to provoke and polarise society for political relevance.
He maintained that India is a democratic country where faith is a personal matter and accused the PDP leadership of spreading misleading narratives to undermine national institutions.
Bhagat said security-related regulations, including cyber rules, are being wrongly projected as suppression of freedom, while they are linked to national security and public safety.
Referring to the Palestine helmet issue, he criticised the defence of what he termed as politicisation of sports and said importing foreign political conflicts into Jammu and Kashmir was irresponsible.
Targeting Mehbooba Mufti, he alleged double standards and described the PDP as a family-run party focused on headlines rather than public interest.
Bhagat asserted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have rejected divisive politics and said the BJP will continue to stand for national unity, constitutional values, women’s dignity and security.
