MSJK protests against unscheduled power cuts

JAMMU, June 11: Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) workers here today staged a protest demonstration against PDD Department for unscheduled power cuts.
The protest was led by Sunil Dimple, MSJK president, who said that the defunct power supply infrastructure, low capacity transformers and acute scarcity of drinking water in Jammu has made the life miserable.
“People are facing long durations unscheduled and scheduled power curtailments in this scorching heat and children, patients, old age people are unable to sleep at night,” he maintained adding that there is no accountability in PDD which delivers hefty-faulty bills.
Dimple said that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should provide free 200 units of electricity to all the consumers.
He further said that the Jal Shakti Department has also completely failed as Jammu people are facing acute scarcity of drinking water.
The MSJK leader demanded the start of construction work on Chenab project to supply drinking water from Akhnoor to Jammu city.
Ram Kapoor, Sudershan Sharma, Kala Kumar, Rattan Kumar, Billo Pahalwan, Kala Singh, Mohinder Lichee, Vijay Virdi, Arun Verma, Lohari Shah, Shishupal Sharma, Babu Singh and many others were also present in the protest.
