JAMMU, Apr 1: Mission Statehood Jammu and Kashmir (MSJK) today staged a protest against Power Development Department at New Plot, here.
The MSJK activists led by their president Sunil Dimple raised slogans against PDD authorities for harassing the poor consumers by disconnecting their power supply in case of any delay in making payment.
Dimple said 80% electricity consumers in Jammu city are poor which sometimes fails to make payment of their electricity bills timely but instead of giving them some time, PDD officials disconnect their power supply. He said even on making full payment, PDD officials sitting in their AC rooms fails to restore their power supply within prescribed time limit.
The MSJK president gave 24 hours ultimatum to the J&K Government and PDD authorities to restore all electricity connections immediately otherwise mass agitation will be started.
Those participated in the protest were Raju Kumar, Ashok, Mukesh, Rakesh, Dev Raj, Rajinder, Tarsem Kumar, Ashok Kumar and many others.
