MSJK protests against 20 pc surcharge proposal on electricity bills

JAMMU, Nov 22: Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) activists here today organised a protest rally under the leadership of their president, Sunil Dimple.
The protesters expressed resentment against the J&K government for the proposal of 20 percent extra surcharge on electricity bills during peak hours.
They also raised slogans against prepaid metering system for electricity in J&K.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple demanded returning of Slal and Uri power projects to J&K and royalty for the electricity supplied to other States.
He said that the government has failed to keep its promise of free 200 units of electricity, 12 LPG cylinders and double ration.
The MSJK leader said that there will be agitation against the proposal of 20 per cent extra surcharge on electricity bills and smart meters.
Swarn Lal, Lahori Shah, Kala Singh, Vijay Virdi, Mohd Hassan, Depak Kumar, Lohari Shah, Arun Verma and many others were present in the protest rally.
