JAMMU, Jan 25: Activists of Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) here today organised a protest rally under the leadership of Sunil Dimple demanding passing of a bill in the upcoming budget session of J&K Legislative Assembly to ban the sale of liquor in J&K.
Addressing the protesters, Dimple said that MSJK may soon start an agitation to ban the sale of liquor in Katra and Jammu city.
The protesters raised slogans against the new Liquor Policy 2026-27 of J&K.
Dimple said that after the abrogation of Article 370, BJP led Government made Liquor Policy and started more than 300 liquor shops in J&K forcibly using Police force.
He said: “For generating revenue, we can’t make our youth addicts.”
The MSJK leader appealed to all the 90 MLAs of J&K to get united to pass a bill in the Assembly to ban the sale of liquor in J&K as has been done in Gujarat, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and in many other States.
Mohinder Kumar, Dev Raj, Vipan, Mukesh, Rakesh Sharma, Kala Kumar, Satwant Singh, Ram Kumar Das, Akbar Khan, Shafi Khan, Nazier Ahmad, Nasir and many others were also present in the rally.
