MSCBMT empowers students through art workshop

SRINAGAR, Sept 10: Noted artists under the banner of Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust (MSCBMT) conducted a transformative art workshop at the Higher Secondary School and Middle School at Kothibag, in Srinagar.
The workshop aimed at enhancing students understanding and skills in the field of art, with a special focus on portrait making. The week-long art workshop, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Union Government, revolved around the theme of ‘Vanishing Art and Culture of J&K’. Notable artists including Anas Sultan, Kishore Kumar, Gopal Krishna Samantray, Vijay Kumar, Digbijayee Khatua, Javaid Iqbal, MY Baccha, Masood Hussain, Prof Zahoor and MA Mehboob participated in the event.
They shared their expertise and techniques involved in portrait making. The students were engaged in interactive sessions, where the essential features to be taken care of while painting portraits were discussed and demonstrated.
Chairperson of the Trust, Anuradha Rishi expressed referred to the importance of the event and impact on the participating students. She emphasized the Trust’s commitment to promoting art and culture.
“Through this workshop, we aimed to explore the hidden talent among school- children at an early stage. By providing them with the skills and knowledge in art, we hope to nurture their creativity and passion for artistic expression. Our Trust is dedicated to empowering young minds and preserving the rich heritage of J&K’s art and culture, “ she added.
