RAJOURI, Mar 2: Rajya Sabha MP Gulam Ali Khatana today criticized the administration over what he termed poor delivery of public services during a Janta Darbar held at Behrote Mandal in Rajouri district.
Addressing residents, Khatana said governance should be judged by results on the ground and alleged that promises made by the National Conference have not translated into tangible outcomes.
During the public hearing, people raised several issues related to health, education, employment and basic civic amenities.
Residents complained about shortage of doctors and inadequate infrastructure in health centres, forcing patients to travel long distances for treatment.
Similarly, parents highlighted lack of teachers in Government schools, saying it was affecting studies in rural and far-flung areas.
Participants also alleged that Government schemes have not generated adequate employment and that benefits are not reaching deserving people.
Concerns were raised over weak animal husbandry services, water scarcity under the Jal Shakti Department and frequent power cuts, particularly during Sehri and Iftar in the holy month of Ramzan.
Khatana said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remains committed to inclusive development and people-centric governance.
He assured residents that their grievances would be taken up with the concerned departments for early redressal and stressed the need for time-bound action.
The programme was attended by senior BJP leaders, including District President Dev Raj Sharma, District General Secretary Karmat Malik, Samreen Khan, Yuva Morcha President Azhar Mehmood, ST Morcha Captain Nizam Din, OBC Morcha President Zahid Ahmed, and Mandal Presidents Abbas Sadique and Shafiq Ahmed.
Senior Government officials, including ADC, SDM, Tehsildar, BDO, BMO among others were also present in the darbar.
