JAMMU, Feb 27: A motorcyclist has been arrested along with poppy straw from Jinder Mailu area, falling under the jurisdiction of RS Pura Police Station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary laid a surprise nakka at Jinder Mailu and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BS-5262.
During checking, police recovered one kilogram of poppy straw from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Sheer Khan alias Bubble, son of Ali Ahmed of Kothey Bhadur Khan.
During preliminary investigation it came to light that previously the said person was also apprehended by Police Station Miran Sahib alongwith consignment of poppy straw and case was registered against him.
A case under FIR Number 24/18 under relevant Sections of law has been registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation of the case is going on.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
