JAMMU, Dec 4: A mother and her son who were returning home on a scooty were crushed to death by a speeding tipper late last night at Sainik Colony.
According to a police spokesperson the mother-son duo was returning to their home at Majrachak in Bishnah after attending a marriage party, when a speeding tipper bearing registration No JK02W-9353 crushed both of them to death.
The deceased persons have been identified as Jasbir Kour (60) wife of Parvesh Kumar, a resident of Majrachak in Bishnah and her son, Rakesh Kumar (30).
The flying squad of police swung into action and shifted the bodies to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after conducting post mortem, these were handed over to their family members for last rites.
A case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station. The police has seized the tipper, while efforts are on to nab the unknown driver, who fled from the spot.
