JAMMU, May 16: Security forces today destroyed a number of live mortar shells fired some days back by Pakistan in border areas of Poonch and Jammu.
As per the reports, many Pakistani live shells were found in different residential areas of Poonch. Accordingly, security forces today destroyed multiple shells found at Jhullas area in Poonch.
Meanwhile, security forces detected and defused a heavy mortar shell near the fields in Bishnah after getting reports from the villagers. The shell was defused by a Bomb Disposal Squad which was called to the spot.
Pertinent to mention that J&K Police have requested to the people especially to those who were affected in Pakistani shelling to take care in the surroundings and let security forces know if there is any live shell so that , it may be destroyed well in time and no damage may be reported with that.
