More than 6600 pilgrims leave base camps for Holy Amarnath cave

SRINAGAR :  More than 6600 pilgrims, including women and sadhus, today left Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps for Holy Amarnath cave in south Kashmir Himlayas, where already more than 2 lakh yatris have paid obeisance to the self made Ice-Shivlingam since the commencement of the yatra from June 28.
The yatra was progressing smoothly from both shortest Baltal and traditional Pahalgam routes, officials said.
They said 3,300 pilgrims left Baltal base camps early this morning for the cave shrine.
Similarly, 3,336 yatris left Nunwan Pahalgam base camp for the cave shrine this morning, they said, adding that those who had night halt at different halting stations on tradional route also started their onward journey early this morning.
The pilgrims included sadhus and women, they said. (AGENCIES)
