JAMMU, June 25: As Jammu University Entrance Test was conducted today for admission in various Under Graduate and Post Graduate programmes in the university, more than 11 thousand candidates appeared in the test.
According to a press release, issued by JU, more than 1412 candidates for admission in UG programmes and 9992 for PG Programme, appeared in the JUET. Nineteen examination centres were set up at Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Rajouri, Poonch, Srinagar and Leh for smooth conduct of the test. Various monitoring teams, comprising of female faculties as well, were formed to ensure transparency in the JUET.
The JU Vice Chancellor, Prof R D Sharma along with Controller Examination Prof Keshav Sharma, paid a surprise visit to JUET Centres and found the examinations being conducted smoothly.
It is pertinent to mention here that University of Jammu invited online applications for admission to various Post Graduate and Undergraduate programmes of the University. The entire data related to JUET-2015 viz. Instructions How to Apply, Notifications, Prospectus, Fee Details, Qualification & Eligibility, Scheme of Examination including Sample Question Papers for UG/PG and Help Desk were uploaded much before on the admission website www.juet2015.org for the benefit of the students of the State.
The final admission of the candidates to the various courses, will be done on the basis of the merit they obtain in the Entrance Test and Academic Performance. There is negative marking in the exam. For every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. The level of numerical ability were of 10th standard only for both the question papers. The level of test for other components were of 12th standard in case of candidates appearing after 12th class and graduation standard for the candidates appearing after graduation.
