More organizations celebrate Ist International Yoga Day

JAMMU, June 22: More celebrations poured in on First International Yoga Day.
International Yoga Day was celebrated with fervour, pomp and gaiety at Air Force Station Udhampur. All personnel including families and children participated with full enthusiasm and became the part of this momentous and historic occasion.  Yog Guru Shem Sher and Parag from Patanjali Udhampur performed yogasans with the other air-warriors.  The programme was presided over by Air Vice Marshal Upkarjit Singh, Air Officer Commanding, J&K.
Sai Shyam College of Education and Sai Shyam Public School celebrated International Yoga Day. The participated demonstrated various yogasans. Rajni Koul, Vice Principal, Sai Shyam College of Education and Sarojni Saraf, Principal, Sai Shyam Public School threw light on the importance of the day. Later, the participants who performed well were given prizes and certificates.
Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu celebrated International Yoga Day, wherein students and teachers of the school performed different yogasans and Mudras under the guidance of Ranjana Verma, Yoga Trainer. Speaking on the occasion, Dr D Joseph, Additional Director-cum-Principal, DPS Jammu advised the participants to practice yoga everyday. Ruchi Chabra Headmistress DPS Jammu, Meenu Gupta Headmistress upto Middle School and Administrative staff of the school were also present on the occasion.
Art of Living (AoL), J&K held series of training sessions to celebrate International Yoga Day (IYD) across the State. The organization held a function in collaboration with Yoga Department of Jammu University. Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh was the chief guest who took part in the meditation session led by Swami Ashok, a senior teacher from Bengaluru AoL Ashram. Around 500 people participated in the Yoga session. Nari Niketan, Bal Ashram inmates participated as special invitees at the session. The guest of honour was Shantmanu, Chief Electoral Officer. Swami Ashok promised full co-operation from the AoL team including his assistants Tejaswi and Sunita. Dhyan Chand, Director Yoga Centre, Jammu University was also present. The event organizer was Arunima Sinha, AoL J&K State Teachers’ Coordinator (STC) for Youth Leadership Training Programme (YLTP). Meanwhile, AoL also organized a yoga session at Bhawan, Katra for the employees of SMVDSB. The session was conducted by Suyash Raj Shivam, Meena Sinha and Bhargavie Raj. AoL also conducted yoga sessions for CRPF personnel at Ban Talab under the AoL J&K STC Rajan Salalia. The yoga session of State Education Department at GCW, Parade was conducted by Neerja, Prabha, Delair, Meenu and Rahul. The inmates of Amphalla and Kot Balwal jails did yoga under Hemu and Kotwal respectively. Similar yoga sessions were held at Srinagar by Yakoob and Deepali, at Ramban by Pawan, at Udhampur by Sunil, at Reasi by Ajay Aneja, at Kathua by Bhagwati and Sushant, at Bani by Ajay Dutta of AoL, who also carried out a padyatra of over 1,000 people.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj celebrated International Yoga Day. On the occasion Dr Ved Parkash Shastri appealed all to perform and practice yoga daily for better health. Among others present were Revti Sharma, Pt Chaman Lal Sharma, Upesh Sharma, Renu Sharma and Pt Ghanishyam Sharma.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Doda celebrated International Yoga Day at Jawahar Navodya Vidyalya, Arnora Doda, in which around 300 male and female took part. The yoga expert Mohinder Singh, Vice Principal Green Model Academy Doda gave presentation of common Yoga Protocol. All the participants performed yogasans.
42nd Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal, Batote along with Coys deployed in Jammu, Doda and Ramban districts celebrated International Yoga Day at Battalion Headquarters. 85 officers and men of Unit participated in the programme. On the occasion, various yogasans were performed.
