JAMMU, July 2: On 7th day of Moharram, a procession was taken out from the residence of Late Syed Mazhar Ali Shah under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu.
During the procession mourners were reciting Nohas and Marsiahs to pay tribute to Shehzada Qasim.
At Imam Bargah New Plots, the mourners offered namaz-e-magriba in and a Majlis was also organized by Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plots which was addressed by Molana Syed Jalal Haider. In his address, Molana Haider said that we should follow the path of Imam Hussain.
President Anjuman-e-Imamia Syed Aamanat Ali Shah, while addressing the media, said that Karbala is a thought that cannot be deceived. President Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plots Abdul Sameer Qureshi said that we should follow the path of Imam Hussain and always spread a message of humanity and brotherhood.
Senior Journalist and JK Waqf Board Member Sohail Kazmi, said that the sacrifice of 72 in Karbala taught us that we should stay strong and never accept humiliation. Prof Sujat Khan, Secretary Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu said Karbala taught us how to liberate from arrogant and oppressive forces. Vice President Anjuman-e-Imamia Syed Afaq Hussain Kazmi delivered the vote of thanks.
People from different regions like Rajouri, Poonch, Surankote, Chanderkot, Gursai, Mandi, Loran, Kashmir and organizations like Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plots, Anjuman-e-Hussaini Bathindi, students of Ladakh, MEWSL and people of different faiths participated in the procession to pay tribute to Imam Hussain and all the martyrs of Karbala.
Earlier, a Majlis was organized before the procession which was addressed by Moulana Ali Asgar Haidery from Mumbai.
In his address, the Maulana higlighted the values of Islam and the teachings of Prophet Mohammad. He also highlighted the great sacrifice of Shahzada-e-Qasim who laid down his life in Karbala for the sake of Islam and truth.
“It is because of the battle of Karbala that we stand against super powers of world and stand with the oppressed. When you are on the path of Allah no force can oppress you,’ he said.
