JAMMU, Dec 7: MLA Akhnoor, Mohan Lal Bhagat today laid the foundation stone of a Community Hall near Trideveshwar Mahadev Mandir at Chak Kirpalpur, Jourian, being constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD) under the Department of Tourism, J&K at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat said that community halls play a vital role in strengthening social harmony and providing a common platform for social, cultural and religious activities. He said the present Government is committed to balanced and inclusive development, ensuring that even rural and border areas receive quality infrastructure.
The MLA added that the Akhnoor constituency is witnessing accelerated development in sectors such as roads, education, water bodies, community assets and tourism-related infrastructure, aimed at improving the quality of life of the people. He assured that public demands would continue to be addressed on priority with transparency and accountability.
Those present on the occasion included DDC Member, Bhushan Bral, Mandal president, Jourian, Neeraj Sharma, ex-Sarpanch, Manga Ram, ex-Sarpanch, Varinder Bhagat, Sonu Chib, Ram Pal, president Hindu Taqt, Balbir Singh, Kalu Ram, Bharat Singh and other prominent locals.
From the department side, Executive Engineer PWD Division Khour, Kuldeep Kumar and Assistant Executive Engineer, Ashish Bhasin were also present and briefed the MLA about technical aspects of the project.
