KATHUA, May 27: Former minister and senior Congress leader   Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that Modi Govt has nothing to show on ground except border escalation during past four years of rule.
While addressing series of meetings at Thanthu, Kandharanoo, Mallid-Kantal, Gurah kalyal  and Mela in Billawar constituency today, Sharma said that Modi Government  did nothing in four years for common man of country and has nothing on ground to show except price escalation of essential commodities and escalation on borders.
Dr Sharma showed serious concern over the many fold price rise of the petrol and diesel which will further lead to price escalation of all commodities specially food grains and other items in daily use including transportation charges and passengers fare. It is first time in the history of country that petrol and diesel price increased up to Rs 85 and  Rs 75 per liter, respectively. This every day rise in fuel prices further created uncertainty in market which adversely affect budget of common man.
During the   UPA Government when the crude oil price was 147 dollar international market the petrol was sold at the rate of Rs 67/ liter  and now when the rate lies often between 40 to 75 dollar per barrel the price charged by the Modi government is more than Rs 85/ liter   by increasing the excise duty manifold. He said that when the prices of petroleum products in the international market are very low then why is Modi’s govt increasing prices day by day.
Narender Modi and other BJP leaders have always accused the UPA Government for price rise during Parliament election and other public meetings but BJP and its leadership is completely silent over this unprecedented price rise by increasing excise duty instead to cut the excise duty already charged during the regime of UPA Government. The common man feels that he is cheated by the false promises made  by Modi, Dr Sharma added.
