NEW DELHI, Feb 18 : Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership saying “Modi’s enabling impact made the nation realise its potential and esteem. PM Modi’s leadership has unlocked India’s potential and elevated its global standing, he added.
Speaking at the launch of the book “The Modi Story: Perform | Reform | Transform”, he said that the past decade has not only witnessed unprecedented governance reforms but also a shift in national self-esteem, allowing India to move from being a follower to a global leader.
Dr. Jitendra Singh underscored that Modi’s governance model has consistently turned challenges into opportunities, leading to breakthroughs in sectors like space, nuclear energy, and startups. “From opening the space and nuclear sectors to private investment to spearheading India’s startup revolution, the Prime Minister has broken taboos of the past and empowered the youth with an enabling ecosystem,” he said. He credited the Modi Government for abolishing obsolete rules, decentralizing decision-making, and fostering a culture of innovation that has helped young entrepreneurs thrive on the global stage.
Reflecting on India’s shift in global perception, Dr. Jitendra Singh pointed out how the country has moved from being part of the “Fragile Five” economies to one of the world’s top five economies. He cited India’s achievements in healthcare, particularly the rapid development and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, as an example of how the nation has earned international recognition for its scientific and technological prowess. “There was a time when Indian students hesitated to introduce themselves as Indians abroad. Today, Indian professionals and startups are setting global benchmarks, and even Pakistanis claim to be Indians because it carries a premium,” he remarked.
He emphasized that the socio-economic transformation under Modi has been accompanied by a cultural shift in governance, where out-of-the-box thinking has led to tangible policy reforms. “When this government came to power in 2014, we removed the outdated practice of attestation of documents—a colonial-era relic that had persisted for 70 years. This was a small step, but it symbolized a larger shift towards trust-based governance,” he said.
Dr. Jitendra Singh reflected on how the transformation under Modi is not just limited to economic or technological growth but also extends to India’s cultural and societal evolution.”There was a time when Indian students hesitated to introduce themselves as Indians abroad. Today, Indian professionals and entrepreneurs are setting global benchmarks” he said.
Dr. Jitendra Singh lauded “The Modi Story” as an important documentation of India’s transformation under the Prime Minister’s leadership. He described it as more than just a book—it is a reference for future scholars and a case study for policymakers. “This book captures the essence of an era where India found its voice, realized its strengths, and embraced its global identity. The Modi era is one of reform, innovation, and national pride. It is a time when India has not only risen but has begun to lead,” he said.
