JAMMU, June 2: Terming eight years of Government under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, as a golden era for poor people, Balbir Ram Rattan, spokesperson, J&K BJP, said that it focussed on alleviating poverty, which brought changes in lives of crores of them.
In a statement, Balbir Ram Rattan, said that for the first time in the history, the country got a Government, which worked on many fronts with an objective of improving socio- economic upliftment of the poor in particular. At the same time, this Government also paid due attention on development.
Having dedicated these eight years to ‘Seva, Sushasan aur Gareeb Kalyan’, for the first time, economically weaker section among general category got ten percent reservation in educational institutions and jobs under Narendra Modi Government. Schemes like PM Awas Yojna, Soubhagya Yojna, Ujwala, Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojna, have benefitted crores of poor citizens.
He said that in order to ensure full delivery of financial assistance under various schemes to the poor, Modi Government initiated Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) mode to transfer money direct into one’s bank account. It has plugged corruption, thus proved helpful to the poor beneficiaries.
Balbir said that the non BJP governments ruled the country for decades after independence and always exploited the poor people on the slogan of Gareebi Hatao but did nothing concrete for poor.
“Less Government, more governance has proved to be hall mark of PM Narendra Modi government”, Balbir said and added that its policy of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas Aur Sabka Prayaas has helped every region, faith and section.
