POONCH, Sept 25 : Mr. Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, a vegetable grower of village Chandak, Poonch, has been awarded “Best Farmer Award in Vegetable Production” with a cash prize of Rs. 51,000/- along with a shawl and certificate of appreciation for adoption of innovative techniques in vegetable cultivation in a recently held Global Agri-Business Summit: Vibrant Gujarat, organized at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat on “Accelerating Agriculture Production, Productivity and Value Addition, during September 9 & 10, 2013.
Mr. Khan was honoured with prize by Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat in a farmer summit where more than 1 lakh farmers participated from every state of the country. Innovative techniques adopted by Mr. Khan were appreciated by the jury and he is the only farmer from Poonch district who has been conferred with this award.
