JAMMU, Aug 1: BJP Morcha termed the passage of Triple Talak Bill a victory for millions of Muslim women in the country. The party complimented the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for leading this social revolution from the front. It termed the passage of Bill by the BJP Government at Centre a true testimony to `Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’.
Mahila Morcha State president, Rajni Sethi while addressing a press conference at party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, today said that Parliament has abolished Triple Talaq and corrected a historical wrong done to Muslim women. This is a victory of gender justice and will further equality in society. She expressed her compliments to all parties and MPs who supported its passage. India rejoices today, she added.
Those who ruled India for 60 to 70 years failed to provide basic things for women’s welfare, she said, adding the previous governments never bothered for welfare of women in the society. The country knows very well the approach and thinking of those who could not even have it as their priority to provide basic facilities to women in all these years.
Rajni was also accompanied by general secretaries, Sanjita Dogra and Shailja Gupta, senior leader, Suresh Jamwal, State media secretary, Prerna Nanda and Anantnag district secretary, Muneera Begum. Click here to watch video
This is an occasion to salute the remarkable courage of those Muslim women who raised their voice openly against the practice of Triple Talaq, she said, adding that the abolition of the practice will contribute to women empowerment and given women the dignity they deserve in our society.
She said the decision is a mile stone in the quest for gender justice, a moment of satisfaction for the entire country. The abolition of Triple Talaq will contribute to women empowerment and give women the dignity they deserve in the society, she added.
After press conference, the State office bearers, State Executive members, district presidents and Muslim Women celebrated passage of Muslim Women Protection Bill at BJP Office. It was a celebration which had the feeling of liberation from the clutches of inequality and they expressed their feeling by dancing and distributed sweets, greeting each other, complimenting Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and the efforts of the Government.
