Modi, BJP diverting attention of people from real issues: Cong

NEW DELHI, Nov 25:
Charging Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government of trying to divert attention of the people from real issues and the failure of the NDA Government to fulfill promises made during the 2014 Lok sabha elections by indulging in the politics of division, the Congress on Saturday expressed confidence that the people would give a befitting reply to the BJP in the coming elections in Gujarat.
Talking to reporters here, AICC senior spokesperson and Deputy Leader of the Congress in the Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma said,”the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are running away from the questions being posed by the people on their failure to fulfill promises made during the Lok Sabha elections.
He (Modi) is not talking of development but division.” “The BJP wants to create social tension in society so that people’s attention is diverted from the burning issues like the huge slump in the economy, the falling exports and the GDP due to demonetisation and GST.”
Charging PM Modi and the BJP of betraying the faith of the people, Mr Sharma expressed confidence that the people of Gujarat would give a befitting reply to the party in the coming assembly polls in the state. ”They are not talking of development but division.
They are trying to create social tensions in the country to divert attention of the people from the real issues.” “We want the people of Gujarat to understand the intentions of the BJP.
I am sure the people of the state will understand and give them a befitting reply in the coming assembly polls,” Mr Sharma said. (UNI)
