KATHUA, Aug 8: In compliance with directions regarding the conduct of mock drills to assess preparedness and coordination among security and emergency response agencies, a comprehensive mock drill was conducted today at Static Guard Patti Nallah Bridge No. 23, located at 16.7 KM of the railway track in the jurisdiction of PS GRP Kathua.
The drill simulated a terrorist attack scenario aimed to test the joint response mechanism of multiple agencies. The exercise began at 1700 hours and concluded at 1800 hours, involving a total of 110 participants, including officers and officials.
The mock drill involved simulated neutralization of two terrorists, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) meticulously. All participating teams were thoroughly briefed, re-briefed, and later debriefed during the pre- and post-drill sessions to ensure learning and assessment of response gaps.
Such drills are crucial for strengthening inter-agency coordination and enhancing readiness to effectively respond to real-life emergency situations, an official statement said.
