Mobile Passport Van comes to Kargil: Apply for your Passport with ease

KARGIL, June 10 : The Passport Seva Project (PSP), under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is committed to providing swift and transparent passport-related services to citizens. In line with this objective, the Ministry has introduced the ‘Mobile Passport Van Service’ to ensure seamless passport facilities for applicants across various jurisdictions, including remote areas.

Under this initiative, the Regional Passport Office, Srinagar, will operate the Mobile Passport Van to serve applicants within its jurisdiction.

From Monday, June 16, 2025, to Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the Mobile Passport Van will be stationed at National Information Centre, VC Hall, New Building, Near Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kargil.

 

Residents and workers in Kargil and nearby areas can avail passport services by booking an appointment through the official website www.passportindia.gov.in. Applicants must select ‘Passport Van’ as the service option and choose their preferred slot during the specified dates.

 

On the day of the appointment, applicants should visit the designated location at the scheduled time and contact the Mobile Passport Van team (Registration No. PB65BF1377) for further assistance.

 

This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and convenience for citizens in remote regions, ensuring efficient and hassle-free passport services.

Visit of Judges of High Court of Punjab & Haryana to District Kargil, UT of Ladakh from 07.06.2025

A delegation consisting of Justice Vinod S. Bhardwaj,  Justice Pankaj Jain, Justice Jasjit Singh Bedi, Justice Nidhi Gupta, Justice Harkesh Manuja, Justice Aman Chaudhary, Justice N S Shekhawat, Justice Vikram Aggarwal from High Court of Punjab & Haryana accompanied by  Ritu Palli, respected spouse of Justice Arun Palli, Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, visited District Kargil from Srinagar via Zojila Pass on 07.06.2025 to 09.06.2025.The purpose of the visit was to familiarize the  Judges with the judicial infrastructure and functioning of courts in the region, and to promote mutual understanding regarding judicial and administrative practices, judicial reforms, and infrastructure development across High Courts and Subordinate Courts.

 

The  Dignitaries were warmly received at the Sub-Division Drass by Spalzes Angmo, Principal District & Sessions Judge Kargil;  Balasaheb Suse, District Magistrate, Kargil;  Chemit Yurgyal, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kargil;  Nitin Yadav, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kargil;  Sadiq Ali Wazir, Munsiff, Drass; Reyaz Ahmad, President, Bar Association Kargil; along with members of the Bar and    Vishal Atri SDM Drass and his officers. Deldan Angmo, Mobile Magistrate, Kargil, escorted the dignitaries during the visit.

The  Dignitaries paid their homage to the martyrs at the Kargil War Memorial Drass.

 

During their two days stay at District Kargil, The  Judges visited the new upcoming court complexes at Drass and Sankoo Sub Division, where the  Judges were briefed about the ongoing projects and their designs. The valuable suggestions and inputs provided by the  dignitaries were noted by the engineers of the executing agency.  They also interacted with the judicial officers, bar members and other stake holders.

 

During their two days stay the  dignitaries visited the Munshi Aziz Bhatt Museum for Central Asian and Kargil Trade Artefacts, where they were brief about the historical significance of the region of Kargil.

They also visited the forward border post and interacted with the army personnels deployed at the post and thanked them for their great service.

Later the dignitaries visited the Suru valley and interacted with the officials of the administration and local people and really appreciated the beauty of  Suru Valley.
