JAMMU, Dec 31: Security forces continued search operations in several areas to counter any attempt by terrorists to disrupt New Year celebrations.
Addressing a press conference at Jophar under the jurisdiction of Ramnagar Police Station, SSP Udhampur Nagpure Amod Ashok said searches have been going on for last 20 days at different places.

He said movement of three terrorists is suspected in Udhampur district and efforts are on to neutralize them. This year, he added, one top commander of terrorists Jabbar Bhai was killed while three soldiers were martyred.

Meanwhile, the Home Department has suspended mobile data services temporarily in Panjian Talab area of Udhampur within 1.5 kilometer aerial radius.
The data has been suspended following apprehension of its misuse by anti-national elements/miscreants, an official order said.
Meanwhile, braving sub-zero temperatures, the Army and the Special Operations Group (SOG) have intensified their vigil in the high altitude areas of erstwhile Doda district to counter any attempt by terrorists to disrupt New Year celebrations, officials said.
A massive counter-terrorist operation has been underway since last week in the upper reaches of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts, including the snow-bound areas and adjoining Udhampur, Reasi and Kathua districts, besides Rajouri and Poonch.
