DODA, Nov 5: Six persons including a Member Legislative Council (MLC) received injuries, when the vehicles they were traveling in, collided head-on with a truck near Suigwari area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bhalla police station.
As per police sources, a truck hit the vehicles including a Scorpio car, resulting into injuries to six persons including MLC Firdous Ahmed Tak.
The MLC was traveling in his Scorpio car to Srinagar from Kishtwar and was escorted by a police vehicle. The truck hit the police vehicle first and later collided with the Scorpio car, in which MLC was traveling.
After getting information, police team rushed the spot and shifted the injured to District Hospital Doda, from where one constable identified as Adil Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohammad Butt of district Kishtwar was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment as he received injuries in his eye.
The other injured have been identified as Firdous Ahmed Tak (MLC), son of Wazir Ahmed Tak, Tariq Parvez, son of Mohammad Akbar, Shabir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad, Azad Ahmed, son of Ghulam Rasool and Shaibir Ahmed, son of Abdul Aziz, all residents of district Kishtwar.
The driver of the truck identified as Showkat ali Gujjar of Phagu Marh, Kandni fled from the spot leaving behind the vehicle, which was seized by the police.
A case under relevant Sections regard has been registered at Bhalla police station and investigation started.
