JAMMU, Feb 23: All J&K National Health Mission Employees Association (NHMEA), Jammu Division, has called upon Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of Jammu and Kashmir to raise their long-pending issues during the upcoming Assembly session, scheduled to commence in the first week of March 2025.
In a statement issued to the media, Dr Vikas Sharma, provincial president of the Association, emphasized that NHM employees have been working tirelessly for over two decades to provide quality healthcare services across the Union Territory. However, despite their dedicated service, no formal job policy has been formulated for them.
Dr Sharma highlighted the plight of many NHM employees, particularly paramedical staff, who continue to work on meager salaries, making it difficult to sustain their livelihoods. The Association urged the MLAs to pass a resolution in favor of NHM employees, acknowledging their contribution and ensuring job security.
Additionally, the Association’s spokesperson, Dr Hamid Parray, has appealed to higher authorities to release the pending salaries before the Maha Shivratri festival. This, he stated, would allow employees to celebrate the occasion with their families without financial distress.
The Association expressed hope that the Government will take swift action to address these genuine concerns and work towards securing a better future for NHM employees in J&K.
