NEW DELHI, Jan 18: MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, here today met Union Tourism Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and discussed the transformation of interior water bodies of Srinagar into eco-friendly tourist villages.
During meeting, Sadiq presented a Detailed Project Report amounting to Rs. 180 crore, focusing on the development of Mir Behri Dal, Khushalsar, Gilsar and Ancharsar.
The proposal outlines sustainable initiatives designed to upgrade infrastructure, enhance basic amenities and foster community based tourism.
Sadiq emphasized that this project aims to bridge the gap between the natural splendour of these areas and the challenging living conditions of about 30,000-35,000 residents who call these water bodies home.
Sadiq expressed gratitude for the Union Minister’s encouraging response.
He said, “The Union Minister assured that this project will be taken up on priority and has committed to engage with the State Government and the State Tourism Ministry to provide all necessary technical and financial support.”
Sadiq claimed that with the Union Government’s backing, these areas will see a brighter future, marking a key moment in their development and recognition.
