MLA visits rain, flood-hit people in Poonch

POONCH, July 12:  MLA Poonch Ajaz Jan conducted extensive tour in Poonch and adjoining areas and met the people who were affected with recent heavy rain and flood  in the area.
Accompanied by Tehsildar Poonch, BDO, TSO and other officers from PHE, PDD and R&B, the  MLA took stock of situation and assessed the damage caused to the property and houses/ shops and Government buildings in the rain and flood.  The people projected their issues and also presented charter of demands. He also met the people whose houses have been damaged and asked the officers to make assessment of loss and forward the cases to the Deputy Commissioner.
Besides Poonch city, the MLA also paid tour to Mandi and other areas of Haveli (Poonch). The MLA said that public comfort was the matter of prime concern  for him and said that all the officers of different departments should work on war footing to go for repair and damage control work. He assured the affected people to expedite repair work wherever needed.
The MLA also led a public Darbar and listened to the grievances of the general public and reacted to their needs on the spot.   Mr Jan also kick-started the black topping work of main road Khanetar, which was the major demand of that area.  It had been badly damaged since long and repair work was long awaited.
