MLA, Shrine Board members call on Governor

SRINAGAR, Sept 6:  Hakim Mohd. Yaseen, MLA Khansahib, called on Governor N.N. Vohra, at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Besides raising issues relating to the development of his constituency Yaseen discussed with the Governor varied issues which relate to the restoration of peace and normalcy and securing balanced growth of the State.
Governor appreciated Yaseen’s concerns and urged him to continue sustained efforts for engendering a harmonious societal environment which would promote welfare of the people of his area. Governor also particularly asked Yaseen to counsel parents and teachers to see that youth were kept away from getting involved with law and order situations.
Dr. S.S. Bloeria and B. B. Vyas, Members Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board also met Governor.
Governor and the two Members discussed the current status of the major ongoing infrastructure development projects in the shrine area and possible steps for further enlarging and augmenting the existing arrangements  for the convenience of pilgrims to provide the best possible facilities.
Dr. Bloeria, Chairman Governing Body of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul informed Governor that Shastri classes had been started at the Gurukul last month.
A delegation of Janta Dal United led by its President, G.M. Shah also met Governor.
The delegation apprised the Governor about its party’s views relating to the ongoing legal challenge to Article 35 A of the Constitution and raised other issues relating to disappeared persons and the security threat to mainstream leaders.
Governor observed that the establishment and effective functioning of rural and urban self governing bodies at the grass roots level would go a long way in promoting the development and welfare of the people and urged all political parties to join hands to restore normalcy.
