UDHAMPUR, Oct 9: MLA Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta today inaugurated the blacktopping work on the road from Pachala Chowk to Forest Office up to Venus Chowk Udhampur, with estimated cost of Rs 23 lacs.
This important road stretch will provide major relief to residents, traders, and daily commuters who have long demanded its upgradation.
Addressing the gathering, Pawan Gupta said that the work marks another milestone in the ongoing development initiatives aimed at ensuring smooth and durable road connectivity for the people of Udhampur. He stated that good roads are the foundation of overall progress as they facilitate trade, tourism, and access to essential services.
Mr Gupta emphasized that the Public Works Department (PWD) has been instructed to complete the project within the stipulated time frame while maintaining the highest standards of quality. He reiterated that there will be zero tolerance for any compromise in quality and that regular inspections will be conducted to ensure transparency and accountability.
The MLA further informed that multiple road improvement works are underway in different wards and rural areas of the constituency. These projects, he said, reflect the Government’s mission to strengthen basic infrastructure and ensure balanced growth for both urban and rural belts.
On this occasion, Xen PWD, AEE PWD, Sham Kalsotra (President, Chamber of Commerce Udhampur), Nisha Gupta, Kush Pachala (Ex-Councillor, Ward No. 16), Rohit Sharma Sethi (District Secretary BJP), Pankaj Mahajan (City President BJP), Subash Gupta, and many other prominent citizens were present.
MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta reaffirmed his dedication to the people of Udhampur, stating that several new development projects focusing on roads, water supply, and sanitation are already in the pipeline and will be executed in a phased manner in the coming months.
