UDHAMPUR, May 28: MLA of Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta , today formally inaugurated the macadamization work on Nagrota Link Road including its connecting stretches, covering a total length of one kilometer.
This much-awaited road improvement project has been undertaken by the Public Works Department (PWD) and marks another significant step forward in the infrastructural development of the region.
The project has been allotted a budget of Rs 30 lakhs, sanctioned to enhance the quality of road connectivity for the residents of the area. The deteriorated condition of the road had been a longstanding grievance among locals, affecting daily commuters, emergency access, and overall mobility.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the enthusiastic presence of local residents and several prominent political and community figures, including Rohit Sethi (BJP District Secretary, Udhampur), Varinder Badyal (General Secretary, BJP Udhampur), and other local leaders.
The gathering welcomed MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta with traditional drummers, slogans, and heartfelt appreciation for his continuous efforts toward grassroots development.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta stated: “Our mission is clear — to deliver tangible development at the doorstep of every citizen. The macadamization of Nagrota Link Road is not just a road project; it’s a pathway to better connectivity, improved safety, and enhanced opportunities for the people of this area. I remain committed to addressing the needs of every corner of Udhampur.”
He further emphasized that basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water supply, and healthcare remain top priorities in his development agenda, and more such initiatives are already in the pipeline.
Residents expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for the timely execution of the project and hoped for continued support in resolving other civic issues as well.
