UDHAMPUR, June 9: In an effort towards strengthening responsive governance and enhancing public outreach, a public darbar was held today at Damnote Khourgali in Udhampur.
During the darbar, MLA Udhampur West and Deputy Leader of Opposition (BJP), Pawan Kumar Gupta, along with officers from multiple key departments listened to the concerns of local residents for resolving the same.
People brought forth their grievances and suggestions focusing on development, infrastructure, and essential public services.
Officials present at the Darbar included: Tehsildar Moungri Arushi Saberwal, Block Development Officer (BDO) Rajat Sharma, officers from the Public Works Department (PWD), representatives of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), officials from the Agriculture Department, PHE, Irrigation Department and Chief Education Officer (CEO), Udhampur.
Local residents highlighted long-standing issues such as inadequate road connectivity, delays in water supply schemes, insufficient irrigation support, and stressed the need for enhanced agricultural assistance.
The concerned departmental officers carefully noted each issue, providing on-the-spot clarifications and assurances for immediate actions wherever possible. For concerns requiring further inspection or administrative processing, written applications were accepted with commitments for prompt follow-up.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta emphasized the Government’s dedication to resolving genuine public concerns, particularly in rural and remote areas. He stated: “It is our moral responsibility to reach every corner of the constituency and listen to the voices of the people. This Public Darbar is not just a forum for complaints, but a platform for solution-driven dialogue between administration and citizens.”
He further assured that developmental works in the Damnote–Khourgali region would be accelerated and pledged that no genuine concern would be neglected. Mr Gupta directed officials to submit follow-up reports on all grievances raised and to enforce strict accountability.
