JAMMU, May 16: A significant meeting was held at the BDO Office in Marh block, chaired by MLA Marh, Surinder Kumar, to discuss measures to ensure public safety during shelling incidents from Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Marh, Block Development Officer, Marh, former Sarpanches and others.
The meeting aimed to take proactive measures to ensure citizen safety and well-being in the face of potential shelling incidents. The construction of bunkers and distribution of medical kits demonstrate the Government’s commitment to protecting its citizens and providing them with necessary support during emergencies.
Speaking on the occasion, Surinder Bhagat said administration has been directed to construct bunkers in every Panchayat to provide a safe shelter for citizens during emergency situations. Medical kits have been distributed to each Panchayat to ensure immediate availability of first aid. The meeting reflects the Government’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of citizens in border areas. The decisions taken will help mitigate the impact of shelling incidents and provide citizens with a sense of security and reassurance.
In light of the escalating Indo-Pak tension on borders, the Government has assured that concrete measures will be taken to deal with any adverse situation. This proactive approach aims to ensure the safety and security of citizens and maintain stability in the region, MLA added.
MLA during meeting highlighted key measures including strengthening security forces and intelligence agencies to monitor and respond to potential threats, upgrading surveillance systems to detect and deter any suspicious activity along the border.
He asked for developing contingency plans and emergency response protocols to address any situation that may arise by taking measures to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens, including evacuation plans and emergency services. The Government’s commitment to dealing with adverse situations demonstrates its dedication to protecting its citizens and maintaining national security.
