KATHUA, Dec 23: Member Legislative Assembly, Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan today conducted extensive visit of Jagatpur, Maha and Bagra villages and listened to the public grievances.
He was accompanied by Suman Bala, Mandal president, former Sarpanch Jagatpur, Karan Singh, Raj Singh, Kaka Ram, Ved Parkash, Omkar Singh and others.
The villagers raised issue of drinking water and need for installation of deep bore wells in Maha , Jagatpur, Lower Maha and Matandi. The villagers apprised Legislator about monkey menace and the resultant loss to the farming sector.
Later MLA inaugurated two works of lanes and drains in Ward Number 18 Kathua executed at an estimated cost of Rs 19 lakh. Out of these two works, one will provide connectivity from the house of renowned Dogri Poet, Khajur Singh to house of Deepak Gupta while other work will provide connecting near National Fish farm Kathua up to house of senior journalist, Kuldeep Sharma.
The locals thanked MLA for fulfilling their long pending demand of lanes and drains who assured to address other issues on priority.
Dr. Yash Paul, former Senior Scientist Pollution Control Committee, Anirudh Sharma former councillor, Thakur Khajur Singh, Sushma Sharma, member State Mahila Morcha, Deepak Gupta of Richa Cards and inhabitants of Mohalla were present on the occasion.
