JAMMU, Mar 2: MLA Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Constituency, Baldev Raj Sharma, today conducted an extensive tour of Block Bhomag covering Panchayats Dangakote, Tote, Devigarh and adjoining areas to review ongoing developmental works and interact with the local residents.
The MLA was accompanied by XEN PMGSY Reasi, AEE PMGSY Reasi, AEE RDD Reasi, BDO Bhomag, BJP Mandal President Bhomag Bhuri Singh Nag, Sarpanch Tote Laldeep Singh, Sarpanch Sarhi Tirth Ram, Sarpanch Devigarh Pawan Dev Singh and locals of the concerned Panchayats.
During the visit to Dangakote, the MLA inspected the ongoing construction of the tractor road being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakhs. He directed the Rural Development Department (RDD) to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of the project. He also requested the department to maintain a smooth grade of the road for the convenience of the public.
Sharma visited Government Higher Secondary School Tote. During the interaction, the Principal demanded the construction of a boundary wall for the safety and security of the school premises. The MLA assured that the demand would be taken up on priority with the concerned authorities.
Further, the MLA visited Middle School Charalakote and inspected the ongoing construction of additional classrooms being undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs 20.85 lakhs. He emphasized maintaining quality standards in the construction works.
Later, along with the PMGSY department, he inspected the blacktopping work of the Tote to Sukhalghati road being executed under PMGSY at a sanctioned amount of Rs 1031.64 lakhs. He directed the department to ensure superior quality and durability of the road work.
The MLA also visited the damaged road stretches affected due to recent heavy rains and flash floods, as highlighted by the residents of Panchayats Tote and Devigarh, and instructed the concerned department to take immediate remedial measures.
A public meeting was held at Devigarh where people raised issues regarding water supply, road connectivity and other developmental concerns. The MLA patiently heard their grievances and assured them that all genuine demands would be addressed at the earliest.
