MLA Katra, DDC Chairman Reasi inaugurate road

JAMMU, Dec 31: The long-awaited road project connecting Sujandhar to Ratnote via Gabbar Sarote was formally inaugurated today, marking a major milestone in strengthening road connectivity in the remote and hilly areas of District Reasi.
The project was inaugurated by Baldev Raj Sharma, MLA, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Constituency, along with Saraf Singh Nag, Chairman, DDC Reasi. The inauguration ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from local representatives and residents.
Although Surinder Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister, was scheduled to attend the inauguration, he could not be a due to unavoidable reasons and conveyed his best wishes for the successful completion of the project.
Among those present on the occasion were Chander Mohan Singh, Ashok Thakur, Sham Lal Bhagat, besides a large gathering of local residents.
The road project, sanctioned under NABARD Loan Assistance (RIDF-XXIX), has a total length of 13.10 kilometers with an estimated project cost of Rs. 2758.80 lakh. Once completed, it will provide all-weather connectivity to several villages including Sujandhar, Samak, Chardel, Doda, Tolan Laid, Gabbar, Bagdhar, Jhatakote, Batalade, and Ratnote.
Speaking on the occasion, Baldev Raj Sharma stated that this vital infrastructure project will significantly reduce travel distance and time, improve access to education, healthcare, markets, and administrative centers, and benefit more than 10,000 people in the region. He emphasized that the road will also serve as an important circular link between District Reasi and District Udhampur, greatly easing daily movement for residents.
