MLA Kathua releases Rs 200 lakh for developmental works

KATHUA, July 19: Member Legislative Assembly Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan today released Rs 200 lakh for developmental works to be executed in Kathua constituency.
The MLA apprised that the authorized works for which two crore has been authorized out of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) include the installation of 33 deep bore wells aggregating to total estimated cost of one crore and eight other works of connectivity on whose execution another one crore will be incurred.
The funds have been authorized to cater to drinking water needs of Kathua, Nagri and Lakhanpur areas which suffer badly especially in Summer months where there is scarcity of drinking water.
The people have been demanding since long for augmentation of drinking water supply and with the commissioning of these 33 Deep Borewells, immediate relief will be provided to the residents of drinking water deficient areas. He stated that keeping in view the gravity of the problem, 33 deep bore wells are being authorized at an estimated cost of one crore in one go which is first of its kind initiative in the district.
Similarly eight works of connectivity has been authorized to construct lanes, drains, culverts and deep drains in wards of Kathua where till date no works has ever been executed or where the condition of already executed works has become worse over the years.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, MLA Kathua further apprised that in the coming weeks, more works will be identified for execution out of Constituency Developmental Fund so that the quality of life of Kathua citizens is improved.
