KATHUA, May 29: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Dr. Bharat Bhushan today conducted an extensive tour of Bhagthali, Taraf Sanji, Rair, Ambi, and Keerian villages of Kathua constituency and interacted with residents to address their grievances.
Dr. Bhushan began his visit from Bhagthali village, accompanied by Ravi Andotra (Mandal President), Parvesh Sharma (General Secretary), Vijay Master, former Chairman Taraf Sanji Panchayat Sardar Gurcharan Singh Billa, Dr. Ashok Kumar, Sardar Shingara Singh and local Sarpanches and Panches.
At Bhagthali and Taraf Sanji, locals expressed concern over frequent road accidents near the Bhagthali Police Check Post due to around 30 seized vehicles parked on the roadside. They demanded immediate relocation of these vehicles to the Gau Shala premises and installation of a speed breaker at the Bhagthali village link road entrance on Kathua-Keerian road. Other demands included fencing and development of the cremation ground, and construction of lanes and drains.
In Rair, residents requested drain construction and protection work to safeguard crops. At Ambi, villagers highlighted the lack of road connectivity. In Keerian, people raised issues regarding blocked drainage in SC Mohalla.
Dr. Bhushan assured timely redressal and directed officials to act promptly. BDO Sukriti Koul, Naib Tehsildar Bishan Dass and field officers from the Rural Development and Revenue Departments were present.
