MLA Doda meets Dr Jitendra to push Rs 400 cr PMGSY road sanctions

JAMMU, Dec 30: MLA Doda West, Shakti Raj Parihar, held a crucial meeting with Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), in New Delhi today to discuss accelerating major development projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Doda West Assembly Constituency of district Doda.
During the meeting, MLA submitted a DO letter urging priority consideration for sanctioning 29 road projects under PMGSY, worth over Rs 400 crore. He informed that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of these projects have already been submitted and vetted by the State Technical Agency, underlining their importance in improving road connectivity and infrastructure across Doda district.
The discussions also highlighted two strategically significant projects – the Sudhmahadev Tunnel and Chattergala Tunnel – which are expected to enhance year-round connectivity, reduce travel time and promote socio-economic development in the region.
Responding positively, Dr Jitendra Singh assured that necessary action would be taken and directed the Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, V. Umashankar, to take up these projects on a priority basis.
MLA Doda’s proactive efforts are aimed at bringing crucial infrastructure improvements, boosting economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents of Doda West Assembly Constituency. These projects are expected to play a vital role in the overall development of Doda district.
