DODA, Nov 7: In order to assess the public sufferings at people’s doorstep and to review the ongoing developmental works in his Assembly Segment Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Doda, Shakti Raj Parihar today held a public Darbar in Goha village of Marmat Block in mountainous district Doda.
Parihar took department wise review of all departments to get feedback from field staff regarding the early execution of ongoing works. He urged the officials and officers of various departments present in the public darbar to prove their best in solving the public grievances and timely completion of sanctioned developmental projects.
During the darbar huge number of people were present and they putforth various demands and grievances related to power, water supply, education, medical facilities and road connectivity in far-flung Goha-Marmat area.
While responding to the various demands and problems of the people, MLA directed the concerned officers to look into their demands and problems and asked them to address their genuine problems at the earliest.
While highlighting the achievements, MLA said, “In very short time we have achieved many milestones especially in the area of Marmat.
Sudhmahadev-Marmat tunnel will provide the people of Chenab region an alternative National Highway and its survey is underway. He said that Mangota to Behota gets new road connectivity under Prime Minister Grameen Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) and its tender process is underway. Rs 15 crore each for Balgarata to Root and Balgrata to Mangota has been sanctioned for blacktopping and their tenders are under underway, he added.
He said 3.15 MVA Power Receiving Station of Marmat will also come up soon. MLA said, “It was long pending demand of people which was hanging due to shortage of funds from long time, but when we took up this issue with Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, they made all the possible efforts to make this project a reality.”
Meanwhile, MLA Shakti Raj Parihar also distributed 100 LPG connections under Pradan Mantri Ujjwala yojna to BPL families.
