KATHUA, Sept 26: MLA Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan today visited cloud burst hit Dilwan, Zamalpur, Parala, Khanyara, Panyara, Ama Bhai and Bijjit villages and interacted with affected families with respect to their issues.
He was accompanied by former Sarpanch Dilwan, Balwant Singh, former Sarpanch and Naib Sarpanch of Mehtabpur Panchayat Dilawar Singh and Caption Pawan Sharma, former Sarpanch, Bijjit Panchayat, Uttam Singh, Master Naseeb Singh, Bishan Singh, youth activist Bhanu Partap Singh and Amit Sudan besides locals.
It is pertinent to mention here that Manjli to Zamalpur road was totally damaged due to recent landslides, rains and the connectivity to Parala and Zamalpur villages was closed since 16th August and the road has been got cleared by the administration two days ago with constant monitoring of MLA Kathua.
The people of Zamalpur and Parala villages thanked MLA for getting the road cleared of debris and landslides. The villagers were cut off from the rest of the world and the patients, women and children were facing hardships. With the opening of road, now children have started going to schools and patients and general public is feeling relieved.
While speaking to villagers in Zamalpur, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, MLA Kathua reiterated Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s commitment and concern for welfare of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He distributed ration and essential items kits to the villagers and expressed gratitude to State president, Sat Sharma for taking pains to send the relief material to the affected people.
At Ama Bhai Shrine, Khanyara and Panyara, relief material was given to the affected families. The people of these villages raised concern over scarcity of drinking water and the urgent need of undertaking protection works to save houses and roads from further erosion.
MLA assured villagers that he is in constant touch with district administration and will ensure that needful is done. He added that issue regarding clearing of debris from houses will be taken up with the concerned quarters.
Earlier at Dilwan village, MLA distributed relief material to over 110 families. The relief material here included Atta, Rice, Pulses, Sugar, blankets, fruits etc.
