BANIHAL, Feb 1: Under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, the appointment orders were handed over to newly recruited Anganwadi Workers (AWs) and Helpers, by the MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen here today.
This initiative aims to strengthen early childhood care, nutrition and maternal health services in the region.
Speaking during the event, MLA Sajjad Shaheen emphasized the crucial role of AWs in child welfare and women’s empowerment.
“The Government under CM Omar Abdullah is fulfilling its election promises, particularly in health, education and social welfare,” he said and also appreciated the efforts of the Minister for Health, Medical Education, Education and Social Welfare in enhancing welfare programs and service delivery.
The MLA assured that he will continue his efforts to improve ICDS (Poshan) infrastructure, worker honorariums and timely resource allocation and encouraged the newly appointed workers to serve with dedication for the betterment of the community.
The event was attended by District Programe officer Poshan, Jahangit Hashmi, local officials, ICDS representatives and community members.
