UDHAMPUR, Aug 30: The 3-day Sankri Mela was inaugurated by MLA Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat today amidst religious fervour.
Devotees in large numbers are visiting the holy place to pay obeisance to Sankri Devta.
The MLA paid obeisance at the temple and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the State. Later, he also inspected the stalls organized by the various Government departments for generating awareness among people about the different schemes.
Students from different schools presented colourful programmes on the occasion.
While appreciating the students who participated in the cultural programmes, the MLA said that students should be involved in such activities so that they get a chance to connect with their rich culture and traditions.
District Administration has made adequate arrangements of drinking water facility, uninterrupted power supply, medical facilities, electricity, sanitation, transport etc. for the convenience of the devotees.
