MLA Budhal visits GMC, calls for upgrading diagnostic services in Pir Panjal

JAMMU, June 5: To review the advanced diagnostic services being offered to the public at the Government Medical College (GMC), MLA Budhal Javed Iqbal Chowdhary paid a significant visit here today
During his visit, the MLA visited the state-of-the-art diagnostic laboratories of the Department of Biochemistry established under the leadership of Professor Dr A S Bhatia.
Principal GMC Rajouri, Dr Bhatia briefed the MLA about various high-end diagnostic technologies and tests currently available at GMC Jammu and the Super Speciality Hospital.
He highlighted the department’s crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic outlining the comprehensive testing and diagnostic services provided to the people of Jammu and Kashmir during that challenging period Impressed by the advancements.
The MLA told Dr Bhatia to replicate similar advanced diagnostic infrastructure at GMC Rajouri to benefit the people of the Pir Panjal region.
Chowdhary assured full logistical and administrative support from his side to facilitate the establishment of these facilities.
He lauded the Department of Biochemistry for setting new benchmarks in public healthcare diagnostics and emphasized the need to bring such modern facilities closer to underserved areas like Rajouri and Budhal.
Chowdhary reiterated his commitment to strengthening medical education and healthcare delivery in remote areas and extended full cooperation to the concerned authorities for implementing necessary reforms.
