JAMMU, Oct 28: MLA Bishnah Dr Rajeev Bhagat has secured an allocation of Rs 2.5 crore for upgradation of the Rehal Sports Stadium under the Khelo India Scheme, paving the way for major improvement of sports infrastructure in the constituency.
During the ongoing Assembly session, he raised the issue of the Stadium’s deteriorating condition, pointing out that it had received no funds for repair or maintenance and remained in a neglected state.
Responding to the matter, the Ministry of Sports sanctioned the grant for modernization of the stadium, which will be utilized to enhance existing facilities and ensure better sports infrastructure for the youth. MLA Dr Rajeev Bhagat said the move reflects a focused approach towards strengthening sports avenues in Bishnah.
Residents of the constituency believe the development will transform the stadium into a more vibrant and functional arena, meeting long-pending demands of local sportspersons. This initiative is expected to boost youth participation in sports and contribute to building a stronger sporting culture in the region.
