BISHNAH, Sept 23: MLA Bishnah, Dr Rajeev Bhagat, today kick-started a road macadamization project worth Rs 20 lakh in his Assembly constituency.
A statement said the project covers the link road from Police Colony on Nakka Bakshi–Bishnah–Kunjwani road to the temple on Mehmoodpur Kotli road.
It involves laying of 25 mm thick OGPC (Open Graded Premix Carpet) and WMM (Wet Mix Macadam) over a stretch of 940 meters, the statement said.
Officials said the work will benefit over 10,000 people by providing a smoother and durable road surface.
The inauguration function was attended by community leaders and locals, including Meena Kumari, District Mahila Morcha President Jammu Border, senior leader Vishal Sharma, Mahant Ram Puri, Sourav Bali, Dr Ajeet, Sonu Kumar, Booth President Saroop Sharma and Lucky Sharma.
The Assistant Executive Engineer PWD (R\&B) Sub Division Bishnah and his team supervised the technical aspects of the work. Locals expressed hope that the initiative would address long-pending demands for better road conditions and contribute to the overall development of the area.
