KATHUA, Sept 19:
To assess the losses in flood affected areas of Kerian Gandyal block of Basholi constituency, MLA Basholi Darshan Singh accompanied by DDC member, Dr Shewta Singh visited to Panchyat Basantpur, Dhanna, Kerian Gandyal and assess the ground situation.
They organized a public darbar at village Dankha in block Kerrian Gandyal and listened the public grievances. Numbers of deputation drawn from nearby Panchyat attend the public darbar and highlights their burning issues pertaining to flood and rain fall losses and damage of house, lane drains, road network. They demanded the compensation of losses borne by them.
MLA Basholi, Darshan Singh listened the deputation and solved some of the problems on the spot as team of various district officers was present there. MLA Darshan Singh said that nearly 500 houses were partially or fully damaged in Basholi constituency. Numbers of roads were also damage or blockage for traffic movement. But some of them were opened for traffic movement. He said that the Government is disbursing the compensation in favour of affected people. The tents, ration and other compensation has been given to affected families. He said “ I gave Rs one crore from my CDF for rehabilitation of affected families.
He said that administration is working hard to release the compensation to affected as earliest. In this context numbers of cases are settled and compensation is transferred in their bank account. The process for remaining case is going on speedy. He said that the Central Government is also working on to release a package in favour of flood affected families and areas .
