MLA Bani calls on CM, ministers; raises key developmental issues

JAMMU, Dec 10: MLA Bani, Dr Rameshwar Singh, today called on the Chief Minister and Advisor to the Chief Minister at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu.
During the meeting, Dr Singh discussed several pressing issues concerning the development and welfare of Bani constituency. Key demands raised during the meeting include grant of Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to all communities of Bani constituency under the Pahari category, construction of the Sewa-I Hydro Power Project to address the region’s energy needs, improving mobile connectivity across various remote areas of Bani and allocation of special funds for augmenting the power sector in Bani, particularly in preparation for the upcoming winter season, on the lines of allocations made for Kashmir.
The Chief Minister assured Dr Rameshwar that all the demands would be given due consideration and resolved on a priority basis in a time-bound manner. Accepting an invitation extended by the MLA, the Chief Minister agreed to visit Bani and Lohai Malhar in the near future.
Additionally, Dr Rameshwar met with the Health and Education Minister, Sakina Itoo, to advocate for the upgradation of Saira High School and the establishment of a Primary School at Ghera. The Minister assured swift action to address these concerns.
In another significant meeting, Dr Rameshwar called on the Forest Minister Javed Rana and demanded the bifurcation of the Lohai Malhar Forest Range into two distinct ranges for better management and accessibility. The Minister assured that this request would be processed promptly.
