POONCH, Feb 18: Senior National Conference leader and MLA from Mendhar constituency today visited Mendhar Court complex and announced Rs 3 lakh for the construction of Mendhar Bar room.
While interacting with the lawyers, Mr Rana said that lawyers are the cream of the society and the role of lawyers is not simply to appear in court and argue passionately on behalf of the client, but there are multiple works and responsibilities related to this profession especially, in favour of the country and its people. A lawyer’s contribution is not seen in terms of calculative methods but its impact can be felt by generations to come.
He said in January 1915 at Apollo Bandar in Bombay, a barrister returned to his motherland, who would have thought that he will lead India in one of the biggest war this country has ever seen and emerge victorious. He was no other than Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. From early times of moderates like Motilal Nehru, Dadabhai Naroji to extremists C Rajagopalachari, Bal Gangadhar Tilak or “Iron Man” Sardar Patel, they all had their differences in opinions, thoughts and way of working but what they all had in common was they were practitioners of ‘law’.
Mr Rana said that lawyers are the back bone of any society and they should continue to play their part in the development of the society. Mr Rana announced release of Rs 3 lakhs from CDF for construction of Bar room for advocates at Court complex Mendhar. Mr Rana said he is hopeful that very soon, Additional Session Court will be functional at Mendhar.
